Doris Roles Powell

She was the loving wife of the late George Chester Powell for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zebulon “Jack” and Annie “Doris” Roles, and brother, Robert H. Roles. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret “Penny” Roles; daughter, Sheryl Christman (Chris) , son, George Chester “Chet” Powell, Jr (Karen) ; granddaughters, Julie Etter (Michael), Samantha Powell, and Emily Caldwell (Justin); step-grandsons, Ben Christman (Mary), and Eli Christman; great-grandchildren Caroline, Maggie, and Landon Etter; step-great-granddaughters, Kylie and Emma Christman; nephews, Bobby Roles and Mark Roles.

Jean was a member of Bon Air Baptist church for 67 years. She was active in missions work, teaching children, and her Sunday School class. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered for her loving ways and beautiful smile.

The family will receive friends at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Rd. on June 29th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held June 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Rd. Richmond, VA 23235. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, a gift may be made to Bon Air Baptist Church at the above address.
