Douglas James Considine

Douglas James Considine, 71, of Midlothian, VA, passed away peacefully after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Auburn, NY, Doug was raised with love and guidance by his grandparents James (Jim) Smith and Kathryn (Kate) Smith and his mother Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Holcomb.

Born to the late Elizabeth Holcomb, Doug was a lifelong lover of sports, nature, and evening walks—simple pleasures that brought him great joy and that he shared often with his family. Whether cheering on his favorite teams, watching his children and grandchildren play their beloved sports, or walking beneath the trees at dusk, Doug found peace in movement, laughter, and time spent with loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Considine; his daughters Erin Graber (Derick) and Kaelyn Davis (Nick); and his granddaughters Emma Graber, Charlotte Davis, Alice Graber, and Madelyn Davis. Doug is also survived by his siblings Robert (Chip) Considine Jr. (Toni) and Dawn Bachman (Randy) and nieces and nephews, who will carry forward his memory with love.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Riley Davis, whose memory he now holds close in heaven, and by his mother, Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Holcomb, step-father Robert Holcomb, and many aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Though his earthly journey has ended, Doug’s family takes comfort in knowing he has been reunited with loved ones who went before him and that he now rests in eternal peace. His legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Woody’s Funeral Home – Huguenot Chapel, located at 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose legacy of love, laughter, and strength lives on in all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Doug’s memory to the Alzheimer's Association, in hopes of bringing support and healing to others facing the same journey.
