CARMODY, Edna “Edie” Hall, of Richmond, passed away on May 11, 2014. Born April 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Wyatt Edward Hall and Hester Jeter Hall, of Red Oak, Virginia. She was the widow of Jay Hart and Frank Carmody. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dale Hart Peel; three brothers, Gene H. Hall, Edward Hall, and Wilbur Hall; and one sister, Mildred Hall Priddy. Survivors include her son, Jay Charles Hart and his wife, Eva of Boulder, Colorado; four granddaughters, Jennifer Peel, Michelle Peel Carrasquillo, Heather Peel Horton of Seattle, Washington, and Heidi Anna Hart of Boulder, Colorado; three grandsons, Joel Hart, David Hart, and Joshua Hart of Boulder, Colorado. During World War II, Edna was with the War Department in Washington, D.C. as a cryptographer. She attended Riverside Nursing School in Newport News. Also, she loved bridge, golf, and belonged to the Junior League. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Public Fork Christian Church Cemetery, 1700 J.E.B. Stuart Highway, Red Oak, Virginia, with the Reverend Doug Gibson officiating.
