Elizabeth Pendleton Welday

WELDAY, Elizabeth Pendleton "Betty," 103, of Midlothian, Va., went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. E. Barbour Pendleton; mother, Virginia Goodman Pendleton; husband, Wilbur A. Welday; daughter, Charlotte W. Cox; and brother, E. B. "Bob" Pendleton Jr. and his wife, Mildred M. Pendleton. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth W. "B.B" Whitley; three grandchildren, James A. Whitley (Kim), Betsy Whitley and Deborah W. Glover (Dean); five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, her five nieces and many other nieces and nephews. Betty was a graduate of St. Margaret's School in 1930 and was a long-standing active member of Bethel Baptist Church, in Midlothian, for 60 plus years. A special thank you is given to her caregiver, Arleus Clouden, for her care and dedication. The family will receive family and friends Tuesday, May 26, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 1100 Huguenot Springs Rd., Midlothian, Va. 23113. A reception will follow at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
