Elizabeth Block Yenni

YENNI, Elizabeth M. Block “Billy”, 103, of Richmond, Va., born April 13, 1910, died May 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Yenni. Survivors include one brother, Arthur “Otts” Block, of Baltimore, Md.; her daughter, Carolyn E. “Bunny” Douglas and her husband, Edwin T. “Ned” Douglas, Sr., of Midlothian, Va.; grandson, Edwin T. “Tom” Douglas, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie and their children, Elena and Freddie Douglas; granddaughter, Christine Miles and her son, Stephen Boothe, all of Powhatan, Va.. Billy led an active life both in Maryland and in Richmond. Her athletic talents in track, tennis and golf led her to many competitions. The one of which she was most proud is winning the gold medal in the senior Olympic competition in golf for the state of Maryland at age 90. She leaves behind a loving family and many close friends of whom she cared for deeply. As a devout Christian, Billy will rest now in the arms of the Lord. Services will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanual Lutheran Church, 3131 E.
