Kathy and Heath- Ellen was part of a group of a few women from Green Acres Church who were good friends. We and our spouses often had dinner parties together and were in the church dinner/discussion groups. The women had what we called our "birthday club" - we went out to lunch to celebrate birthdays. Your mother was a very good cook. In fact, yesterday we visited our son Rob in Raleigh and I asked him if he remembered the Cashes. He said he did and reminded me that Ellen's recipe for London broil is in a cookbook I had made for my kids. That reminded me that I not only always use her recipe for that but I used to always make her spinach salad for company. Many memories of such a delightful lady. She will be missed.

I was sorry today to hear of Ellen's passing yesterday. I was her endocrinologist and enjoyed having her as my patient these last ~ 10 years. My thoughts will be you her family as you mourn her passing.
