Elvia Georgina Fernandez

Elvia was born on June 15, 1930 in Lugareño, Cuba. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Maria and Marcelina Elvia Sainz, and brother, Sergio Roberto Sainz. She is survived by her loving daughters, Maria (Preston) Adams, Silvia Dance, Olga (Ryan) Hoganson, and Hilda Dunn. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Jorge Diaz, Michael Adams, Joseph (Sarah) Dance, Michael Dunn, and Victoria Dunn; and three great-grandchildren, Antonio Diaz, Christian Diaz and Paije Adams. Elvia is also survived by her sister-in-law Martha Sainz; nephews Roberto Sainz and Rene Sainz; and niece Martha Murphy.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238 on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2 pm. Services are under the direction of Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Saint Benedict Catholic Church, Segura Initiative Scholarship Fund, 3100 Grove Avenue, Richmond, VA 23221 or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1400 Perry St., Richmond, VA 23224.
