

Scott, Evelyn Collier passed away on September 30, 2012 at 86 years of age. She is survived by her husband, Russell L. Scott; three children, Steven E. Collier and wife Jane of Chesapeake, Va., Cynthia C. Davoud and husband Roddy of Richmond and Karen C. Tetterton and husband J.D. also of Richmond. She is also survived by six precious grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Julie, Jeffrey, Jaclyn and Jake; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vines G. Collier in 1988 as well as her parents, Joseph and Lavada Hall and seven siblings. Evelyn was born in Wagner, South Carolina but spent most of her adult life in Virginia and North Carolina. She was very fond of time spent in Nags Head, North Carolina. She was a tireless, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. (Mema to her grandchildren and Super Mema to her greats). She loved and protected her family with great passion. Evelyn served in many volunteer capacities with various charitable organizations including President of the Chesterfield Jaycettes in 1960 and 1961. Her dream for many years was promoting and finally building a Senior Center for the senior citizens of Chesterfield County. With the help of her family, many friends, neighbors and Chesterfield County, her dream will be fulfilled in the near future. She and Russell attended Lakeside Baptist Church. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to Lisa Gibbs and Roz Taylor who have been her caregivers and longtime friends. Evelyn’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Lakeside Baptist Church, 7401 Woodman Road in Richmond. There will be a graveside service for family members at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Boulevard in Chesapeake, Va. at 3:00 p.m. also on October 13.
