Obituary of Evelyn Elizabeth Wilcox
Wilcox, Evelyn Elizabeth, 96, of Richmond, passed away on May 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis M. Smith and Virginia S. Smith, a sister Edith S. Wilcox, her brothers Gilbert S. Smith and Barney C. Smith, and her husbands, William E. Farmer, Jr. and Gerald T. Wilcox and grandson Thomas J. Duty, IV. She is survived by three children; Suzanne F. Hull (Spooner H. Hull, III), Ginger F. Davis (Irvin T Davis, III) and William E. Farmer, III (Kenneth D. Smith, Jr); five grandchildren, Sheri S. Hull, Spooner H. Hull, IV, Shannon N. Hull, Samantha T. Davis, and Jessica L. Davis; and six great grandchildren, Riley A. Blaha, Olivia G. Kyer, Chloe T. Staples, Lexi S. Duty, Thomas J. Duty, V, and Callie E. Early. Evelyn was born on October 10, 1925, in Valdosta, Georgia. Her family moved to Orlando, Florida where she graduated from high school. She married Bill and moved to Richmond, Virginia. After Bill’s death, she married Gerry and remained in Richmond. Evelyn was a long-term employee with Union Envelope Company in Richmond where she served as President of the local union and retired as a Docket Clerk. As a mom, Evelyn enjoyed taking her family to Florida for yearly family vacations. Later in life, her children enjoyed taking her on yearly birthday trips to locations such as New York City, Las Vegas, and Miami. Evelyn was a kind and loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. The family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by her long-time primary provider, Phyllis Petrohovich and more recently the loving care provided by Rosa Robinson.
