Smith, Flora Matilda, died peacefully at the Laurels of Bon Air on December 22, 2018 just 4 days short of her 101st birthday. She was the widow of Donald C. Smith, Sr. who she met in 1946 while working at the Shenango Pottery in New Castle, Pa. They were married for over 60 years.
She was the daughter of Michael B. Conti and Flora M. (Mayberry) Conti of Hillsville, Pa.
Flora was a selfless homemaker, a self-employed caregiver, an excellent knitter, good gardener, and a fine cook who made the best meatballs on this side of the Bay of Naples.
She is survived by two sons, Donald C. Smith, Jr. and his wife Rebecca and Barry S. Smith. Flora has two granddaughters Autumn Coker (husband T.J.) and Amber Carty (husband Nick), four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also has three surviving siblings, Bob Conti, Etta Lupo, and Wilbur Conti (wife Kathryn).
Memories of Flora will be shared on Friday December 28th from 11 AM to 3 PM at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, Virginia.
