Frances Bowen Ragland, 88, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Ragland Sr. She is survived by three children, Pat Hendrick (Bob), Jim Ragland Jr. (Sharon) and Kenneth Ragland (Debra); four sisters, Gerrie Cairns, Ruby Sauls, Eloise Cathey and Pauline Roberts; a brother, Clyde R. Bowen Jr.; grandchildren, Kim Hendrick, Kristen Mullins, Wendy Horne, Justin and Stephanie Ragland; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Ann Tanner Mullins; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members. Frances was a retired partner of a local transportation company and a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel-Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, and where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu, contributions may be made to Forest View Volunteer Rescue Squad or your favorite charity.
