

Frances Eileen Phillips Singleton, 83, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 19. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, John Edward Singleton; her daughter, Debra Jean Chase (Bruce) of Radford; her two sons, Ronald Edward Singleton (Judy) of Fredericksburg and Dale Franklin Singleton (Susan) of Amelia County; grandchildren, Joseph Brandon Chase and Kathryn Abbey Chase of Radford; John Christopher Singleton (U.S. Air Force) and Laura Carole Singleton of Fredericksburg, Christopher Dale Singleton and Michael Franklin Singleton (both in the U.S. Marine Corps) and great grandson, Colin Singleton. Eileen was a 1945 graduate of John Marshall High School in Richmond and a childhood member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Richmond, where she met her future husband and where they were married in 1947. They moved to the Bon Air area of Richmond and became members of Bon Air Baptist Church in 1958. She served and worshiped there for over fifty years and delighted in teaching young girls' Sunday School classes and singing as a member of the Golden Notes Choir. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 21 at the Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday December 22. Burial will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Road, Richmond, VA 23225.
