

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Pearl Flippen; his first wife, Gloria Flippen; his son, Daniel Flippen; his granddaughter, Tami Flippen Woodfin; as well as several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Flippen; son, Kenneth Flippen; daughter, Linda Flippen Powell; daughter, Brenda Flippen Fisher (Jeffrey); stepdaughters, Debra Glenn and Linda Huffine (Mark); 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 siblings; and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
George grew up in Buckingham, later moving to Midlothian. He served in the Navy in Korea aboard the U.S.S. Missouri. He was a member of the Local Moose Lodge 699, Manchester. His sense of humor will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, February 13 in the Woody Chapel. Interment will follow at noon at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave.
