PEARSON, George A., 84, of Richmond, passed from this life on May 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie "Jane" Pearson; parents, George Norman and Mary Lula Pearson; his sister, Jane Gurkin. He is survived by his children, George M. Pearson (Lynn), Deborah L. Harding (Milton), Pamela A. Franceschi, William N. Pearson, James L. Pearson (Cheryl); his sister, Nell Mitchell; and brothers, Frankie and Robert Pearson; 13 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. He was a graduate of VPI. He retired from Virginia Department of Agriculture with 35 years of service. George was a former deacon and founding member of Huguenot Road Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and an avid Virginia Tech "Hokie" fan. The family will receive friends at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., Midlothian, Va., on May 11, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. and May 12, 2016, from 1 to 2 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following. Interment will be in Dale Memorial Park after the service.
