Georgia was preceded by her parents, Dabney and Naomi Wooldridge; her beloved husband, H. Bruce Cobbs to whom she was married for 64 years; and her brother, Kenneth Wooldridge. Georgia is survived by her four cherished daughters and their families, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and her brother, Ellis Woodridge III.
Georgia was deeply devoted to her family and her faith. She had a passion for service to her church and larger community, exemplified by her career as a hospital and school nurse for 25 years. In her 49-year membership at Bon Air Baptist Church, Georgia invested in the lives of others through mentoring, leading Bible studies, teaching adult Sunday School and, sharing God’s love through local and global ministries. First and foremost, she loved being with her family and always enjoyed the traditions of the summer family beach vacations. She will be forever remembered as a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her compassion, care, beaming smile, and sweet and gracious spirit will leave lasting imprints on all of our hearts.
Please join us in celebrating Georgia’s life. Her Celebration of Life service will be held at Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be private.
