Gertraud Becker

Gertraud Becker, born June 29, 1934, passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2023. Born in Munich, Germany, she moved to London in 1954 and immigrated to the United States in 1957. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Becker, parents Otto Berger and Betty Emma Berger. Gertraud is survived by her daughters Amanda Becker Prestano, husband Joseph D. Prestano; and Judith Becker McHugh, husband William J. McHugh; her granddaughter, Shana Courtney McHugh; her grandsons John Carl Prestano, Wife Kelly Jenna Prestano, Michael Joseph Prestano, and Ryan Joseph McHugh, as well as one great grandson Asher John Prestano.

Gertraud (Traudy) led an active life, being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She retired from the Bank of New York in Harrison, NY and later moved to Southbury, Connecticut and then Virginia. She was loved by many and always had a kind word and a compassionate heart. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held on June 24, 2023 at The New Apostolic Church, 819 Edwards Rd., Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ 07054. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 135 Salem Church Rd, Newark, DE 19713.
