

Glen Keller Shomo Jr. passed away peacefully in his daughter's home in Amelia, VA on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Rosemary Elinor Burkett and his son Glen K. Shomo III who died in 2013; and infant grandson Christopher Glen Redford, who was born and died the same day in 1977.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Redford (Andy); daughter-in-law Nancy Shomo; grandsons Mark Redford (Autumn) and Matthew Shomo; granddaughters Christi Pharr (Scott), Lisa Rainey (Jonathan), Amanda Shomo and her fiance Michael Bucari-Tovo and great grands, Halle Pharr, Conner Shomo, Drew Redford, Ellah Rainey, Kyla Pharr, Alex Redford, Weston Pharr, and Eli Rainey.
Born in Harrisonburg, VA in 1920, Glen graduated from Harrisonburg High School.He married Rosemary soon after graduation. He joined the Army Air Corp as a flight instructor during World War II. After his service, he built a car dealership in Harrisonburg. He was active in the community and was chairman of the Chamber of Commerce. Glen lived his christianity all his life. He was a founding member of Harrisonburg Baptist Church and the first chairman of the board of Steve Wingfield Ministries.
Glen enjoyed traveling in motorhomes across the country and parts of Canada. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing.
The family will receive friends at 10 am on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel, with a service to follow at 11 am. A lunch will follow the service at Woody's.

The family would like to thank Glen's hospice nurses, Melanie Fergusen and Kate Jackson, as well as Nikki Jackson, his caregiver. Each was an angel to our family. Also, Peggy Spencer, of Florida, who was a companion who helped him adjust to a new life after mom/Gramommie died.
