Gwendolyn Axlen Westerhouse

Gwendolyn Axlen Westerhouse, 92, of Richmond, Va., died Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean M. Westerhouse Sr.; and two children, Jeffrey Westerhouse and Diane W. Sharp. Survivors include three children, D.M. Westerhouse Jr. and his wife, Judith, Donna Westerhouse and Gary Westerhouse and his wife, Loretta; one sister, Elaine Goddard; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Huguenot United Methodist Church, 10661 Duryea Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, 4401 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, Va. 23225.

Donna & Family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Your Mom was such a great lady! All of the girls really enjoyed spending time with her. I'll never forget the size of her smile when the waiter asked her for ID when she ordered a drink at Summit's. We are so blessed to have known her.
