Heidemarie Burleigh

Heidemarie Burleigh, 59, passed away on November 25th, 2019 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. She was the wife of Todd Burleigh. Born in Kalamazoo Michigan, Heidi has resided in the Richmond area for over 30 years. She graduated from the Medical College of Virginia. She worked in several local hospitals as Computed Tomography, Radiology, Mammography, and Nuclear Medical Technologist. In 2016, due to health issues, Heidi retired from St. Francis Medical Center. Heidi was a caring, energetic person with a deep desire to help others. She made friends wherever she went, in fact, if you met her most likely you were her friend. With an outgoing nature and distinctive voice, Heidi was hard to miss. Sometimes her exuberance zest for life would get the better of her but her intentions were always good. As devout Christian, Heidi sought to help others through various churches and ministries. Heidi enjoyed traveling, crafting, gardening, shooting, football, music and the occasional party. Most of all, Heidi was a fighter. Even though she faced many medical hardships in her life, the last several years were wrought with pain and difficulty. Despite this Heidi never gave up. Now she is finally free, and she will be missed. Heidi is survived by her husband Todd, daughter Morgan, stepson Andrew, stepdaughter Jerri Lynn and sister, Kirsten. There will be visitation with the family at the Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, VA on December 7th from 6-8 pm.
