George, Helen Simbro passed away at home on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, William H. George, Jr. of Richmond, their 3 daughters Beth McNamee (Patrick), Susan Oliver (Erick) and Katie Simmons (Trent), 6 grandchildren, her sister Jane Smith (Roy) and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Cleveland TN and attended TN Tech. She retired from the McGuire VA Medical Center after over 20 years of service. She was a devout Christian, loving wife and mother and loyal friend.
The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Sunday, February 21 at Woody’s, 1020 Huguenot Rd. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 22 at 2 pm at Bon Air United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Air United Methodist Church, 1645 Buford Rd., Richmond, VA 23235.
