Irene Hall Sims

She was preceeded in death by her husband Wesley N. Sims Sr. Also her parents Myrtle & Alonza Hall; her brothers, Edward, Floyd, Lloyd, Elwood, William, Carlton and Wesley Allen Hall; and her sisters, Frances Jenkins and Louise Carter.

She is survived by her son Wesley N. Sims, Jr. (Dottie); her daughter, Joan S. Brady (Jerry); three grandchildren, Eugene Brady (Rebecca), Michele Waddell (Michael), Melissa Butler and (Eric); four great grandchildren, Wesley Waddell, Amanda Waddell, Caitlyn Brady, Natalie Brady, and McKenna Grace Butler expected to arrive in September 2021. She is also survived by her sister, Annie Mae Carneal,of Louisa, Va.; and brother, Alfred E. Hall of Ruther Glen, Va. Also, her sister-in-laws, Lucille Hall Joyce Hall, Margaret Hall, Catherine Hall; and many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her nieces, Patricia Hall who were very close to her and communicated with her daily and Dee Lafon who always looked after her when they were at church and she looked forward to being with her each Sunday. Also a host of family and friends who were special to her as well.

She was a proud member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, Pastored by her brother, Rev. E.T. Hall, Sr. for 45 plus years and served in many different ministries of the church. She was instrumental in bringing a lot of families into the church and her love for God and people was evident in everything that she did.

A special "thank you" for Kindred Hospice, and the people responsible for taking care of her who went above and beyond to ensure she had the best care possible.

Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 17, at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior, and interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
