LAKE, James Arden, 85, of Midlothian, our beloved father, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Elaine. James was born in Morgantown, W.Va., raised in Swanton, Md., and graduated from Oakland High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired in 1987 as Distribution Center Manager with Safeway Stores in Chester after beginning his 32 year career as a meat cutter in the Washington, D.C. area. James is survived by his three children, Frances, Sandy Dorsey (Paul) and James Jr. (Lynn); three grandchildren, Lisa Lawson (Wade), Bryan Dorsey (Holly) and Katie Demers (Troy); three great-grandchildren, Madison, Kayleigh and Reed; and a step great-granddaughter, Emily. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in his hometown of Swanton, Md.
