James Tracy Mungle

MUNGLE, James T., of Powhatan, departed to be with our Lord, Tuesday, July 3, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He leaves to treasure his memory, his loving wife, Sarah A. (Tardanico) and his devoted children, Claudia Shivo of Deerfield, NH; a son, Douglas of Richmond and Powhatan as well as their spouses; two grandchildren, Amy and Dillon; many nieces and nephews in Massachusetts and dedicated friends and neighbors here in Powhatan. Jim was born in Johnson City, NY, son of the late Herbert and Florence Mungle. He raised his family primarily in Canton, and Norwood, MA and appreciated summers and weekends in their home on Cape Cod before relocating to Powhatan to enjoy his retirement. He also valued the many friendships he and Sarah developed during their retirement in Powhatan as well as spending more time with his grandchildren. As a dedicated Christian, he was involved in various church leadership and volunteer roles with Grace Church of Norwood, MA, Epiphany Church, Walpole, MA, and Manakin Episcopal Church in Midlothian. A memorial service will be held at Manakin Episcopal Church, 985 Huguenot Trail, Midlothian, Va. 23223, on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11am. Jim will be intered in Canton, MA to join other departed family members. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The American Heart Association.
