James Douglas Pridgen Sr.

A dedicated craftsman and leader, Jim learned his trade early in life through rigorous training at the shipyard in Newport News, Virginia. He went on to build a career in the steel industry, serving as a respected manager for several steel companies over the years. Outside of his professional life, Jim was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in life's simple pleasures—whether he was fishing, clamming, or tending to his garden.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Pridgen, and his youngest son, Loyal Pridgen.

He is survived by his son, Doug Pridgen, and his wife Ginger, along with their children Jordan, Tyler, and Kinsey; his daughter, Jeanette Peters, and her husband Mick, along with their children Emily, Leslie, and Spencer; and his daughter-in-law, Leslie Pridgen, along with her children, Caroline and James.

The family will honor Jim's life and memory with a private family service in November.
