6 years later, still thinking of you... Xx

God we had some good times. So grateful I have good memories.

Still missing you jay. Think about you everyday. ~Lizzie

Not one day passes where I don't think of you, Jay. There will forever be an emptiness in my heart.

I first met Jay back in Tuckahoe Middle School. I have such fond memories of us hanging out together and having fun. This is such a shock to hear about. Mrs. Lou, I am not sure if you guys still live at the same place, but I work right down the street at Henrico Doctor's Hospital now. If you need me for ANYTHING please do not hesitate to call. (804) 687-7646.

Dear Betty Lou,
I am so sorry for the tragic loss of Jay. I pray that you will find some comfort with the memories of his life. Jay was a good boy and a good son. My love and prayers to you and your family.

BETTY LOU
I JUST HEARD I'M SO SORRY. YOU ALWAYS HAD SO MUCH LOVE FOR HIM
YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS
MAY PEACE BE WITH YOU

dear betty lou,

im so sorry to hear about the loss of Jay. Jay was always one of my best friends. we grew up together and we were close until the day i moved away. Jay was always there for me when i was the smaller kid on the block and he tought me to be tough. ill always remember justin, jay, and myself cruising the neighborhood day or night causing mischief and always looking for girls. jay was my bestfriend then now and forever. there is noone that could beat jay in anything he was the fastest strongest and always toughest. from all the years of playing football through tuckahoe, roaming rockwood looking for something to do, or just being around him i never knew that anything could happen to him still to this day i think of jay untouchable and i know i will always look up to him and always respect who he was.

Although i didn't get to know you long, the short time that i did know you was very memorable. You will be greatly missed by all. May your family find comfort in knowing that you are in a better and safer place. Much love to you and yours. Keep in mind to never look down in sadness alwys look up and smile as he would.

I have fond memories of Jay playing football at Tuckahoe with my son Jake. Please know our prayers are with you and that he will always be a part of Jake's childhood memories.

Dear Jimmy, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your beloved son. You and your family have been in my prayers and thoughts constantly this past week. I cannot begin to imagine your pain. Please know I am praying for you and your family.

I can't find the words to express the sadness that everyone shares at this time.Jay was a special person. He touched the lives of a lot of people. God bless you. I'll find you when things settle down .

Jay, I am torn apart by my loss of you. Though we did not have much time together. I will always cherish the memories that we made. I will always have an emptyness but it is selfish for me to want you back because i know that you are in a much better place than all of us. I will be waiting on my hug and kiss when i see you again. I love you and miss you always. ~Lizzie

We are also sorry that we did not have the opportunity to meet Jay but know that if he was anything like you..we've all lost one wonderful young man. Be comforted in the thought that his memory will live on in everyone's lives that he touched.

We all know that by the way you were as a person you are now standing beside God the father without pain. You are truely missed by all that you touched during your short life here on earth and we will rejoice in the memories we have of you. May your father have comfort in knowing that you were loved by many and everyone will be a better person for knowing you. In your short life you touched many and brought smiles with your good heart.

It's hard to believe you're gone so soon. I'll never forget the way you brought warmth and cheer to everyone, and you could bring comfort with just a few words. You always had an open heart, and you touched everyone who knew you. We will miss you dearly. My heart goes out to your family.

It is with heartfelt appreciation, we read these kind words written by so many who knew and loved Jay. It is very comforting to know he has touched so many.

Jay's mother, Betty and his Aunt, Billie

Jim, we are so sorry for your loss. You and all Jay's family and friends have our prayers.

Do not stand by my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

Jimmy,
I remember a wonderful little boy who loved to be with his dad, whether it was just hanging out together or learning to ride a bike. I still see J plucking the petunias planted around the trees. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know his memory will always be a light in your heart.

To the family of Jay Wolfe: I can say that I have been privileged and honored to be involved in the life of Jay. As his youth football Coach many years ago, Jay and I developed bonds that kept us close over the years. I remember you as a child, and as the man you grew into. You shared many of your hopes & dreams with me over the years and I know that yiou now are at peace. I will always treasure the memories of the times we spent together and I have to believe that God placed us in each others company a short time before you went to be with Him.

Jay was a special person, who only had love and passion for life in his heart. We all have our struggles but Jay always had a smile and a kind word or small humor to brighten everyone's day.

You will be missed Jay Bird!

I pray that God is with the family during this time, and know that my family is yours and we will do antything we can to help you through this.

Jay, I can't believe your gone. I don't want to believe it. It seems like yesterday we were all hanging out together. My prayers are with your parents as I know this is a tough time for them. I love you Jay and miss you dearly. Until we meet again.

God's Lent Child
I’ll lend you for a little while, a child of mine, God said
For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he’s dead.
It may be six or seven years, or forty-two or three
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

He’ll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief
You’ll always have his memories as a solace in your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below I want this child to learn.

I’ve looked this whole world over in my search for teachers true
And from the folk that crowd Life’s lane I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love and not think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take this lent child back again?

I fancy that I heard them say “Dear God, thy will be done.
For all the joys this child will bring the risk of grief we’ll run.
We will shelter him with tenderness, we’ll love him while we may
And for all the happiness we’ve ever known, we’ll ever grateful stay.
But should the angels call him much sooner than we’d planned
We will brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."
