My sympathy to Joan's family.  I knew Joan for many years as a hard working member of the Chesterfield County community and always ready and willing to help with others in need.  I recently saw her at Wegman's Super Market in a wheelchair and while she looked fragile, she stopped and we chatted for a short time about her family and community and her late husband.  Joan had a long "good" life by all standards, an intelligent prospective on local government and a basic friendly approach to life,   All of us will miss her participation in the Chesterfield community and her professionalism.  

God Speed Joan !  You were a real lady and professional in every sense!
