

Born on October 12, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Leslie Bransford and Nancy Bransford. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Nancy Caroline Bransford; his two daughters Martha Ward (Dana); Sharon Bennett (Mark); his son Steve (Tami); 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who loved to call him "G Daddy."
John had many careers during his life. Early in his career he operated the ESSO service station at the corner of Huguenot Road and Midlothian Turnpike which still is an Exxon station today. He continued his pursuits in the transportation business at Houff Transfer, Ukrops Supermarkets and later established his own company, Crossroads Trailers.
John enjoyed many hobbies, snow skiing at Snowshoe Mountain, sailing with the Greater Richmond Sailing Association at Swift Creek Reservoir, flying his airplane out of Chesterfield County Airport, just to name a few.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23113. A funeral service to honor John's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 1100 Huguenot Springs Rd. Midlothian, VA 23113.
