John Cotton Van Cleve (Van) passed away peacefully on December 31, 2018. He is survived by four children, Lisa H. Van Cleve of Howell, NJ; Laurie A. Van Cleve (Dan McFadden) of Midlothian, VA; Lizbeth C. Reil (Jon Reil) of Kendall Park, NJ; son, David W. Van Cleve of Los Angeles, CA. and five grandchildren, Frank J. Ermel, III, J. Bradley Reil, Jr., Matthew C. Reil, Bailey M. McFadden and Samantha A. McFadden.
In the early 70’s, Van relocated from Princeton, NJ to Dallas, Tx. where he opened Kelly's Flower Shop. Upon retirement, he moved to Heath, Tx., then finally to Virginia to be closer to family.
Visitation will be held at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home 1020 Huguenot Road Midlothian, VA. on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Van's house, 13907 McTyre's Cove Lane, Midlothian, VA. Private burial will take place in New Jersey at the Pennington Presbyterian Church cemetery.
