IN THE CARE OF
Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel
Joseph Dimitri Stefano was a man loved and adored by many. Born on May 5th. 1950, he hailed from the land of Jordan. His Mother was of Jordanian descent, and his Father was Greek. He would later dedicate his life to becoming an American citizen. He quickly mastered the language, and with his bubbly and charismatic personality and charm, established a successful career in sales in the automotive industry. Joseph loved his country, the U.S.A., and as he would coin it, “the greatest nation that there every was”. He loved what the United States represented, life, love and liberty. He was a patriot in his own right.
The only things Joe loved more than his country, were God and his family. In 1971, Joseph met the love of his life, Jacqueline, and three years later, she became his wife. The two wed in January of 1973. Even to this day, they have remained deeply in love and best friends.
That love expanded to produce a large succession of children and grandchildren to carry on his great legacy. Of his five children, his eldest is Jasmin Conant, age 44; second eldest, David Stefano, age 43; the third, Katrin Stefano, age 40; the fourth, Anthony Stefano (deceased); and the youngest adult child, Christopher Stefano, age 27.
He also reaped an inheritance of many grandchildren; the eldest, Jahniece McNair, age 24; Charles Wells, age 21; Iyanah Stefano, age 19; Stephon Autry, age 17; Isabella Stefano, age 16; Alexis Conant, age 13; and Naiyeela Stefano, age 22 months. Most recently, he also adopted into his heart, Shaina Hernandez, age 17; Kiana Hernandez, age 15; and Breanna Hutchinson, age 14.
Also loved as his own, were his son-in-law, Anthony Conant, age 35, and his daughter-in law, Monica Stefano, age 39.
A great man, he was known by many names: Joseph, “Joe-Joe”, Dad, Papa; but today, we call him “blessed”. An awesome husband, amazing Father, dedicated American, activist, and the greatest man we know. To our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, you will continue to live on in our hearts forever. We will love you always. God bless you!
Let’s all be inspired by his final words:
“Love never fails; when you show love, you show God”
-Joseph Stefano
