Joyce F. Carter, age 71, passed peacefully on August 20, 2018 at home surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Carter, Sr. She is survived by daughter, Tammy Burns (husband, Troy); son, Dale Carter, Jr. (wife, Jill); daughter, Myra Bashinski; and her grandchildren Brett, Jared, Amber, Elizabeth, Will, Mark and Wyatt. She is also survived by her brother, his family, and her many beloved nieces and nephews in North Carolina. She was very proud of her family and loved being a MeeMaw to her 7 grandchildren. Joyce loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. The family wishes to thank all of those who supported her and her family during her last days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society Central Virginia, 200 S. 3rd Street, Richmond, VA 23219. A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
