Julian Howell Pentecost, Jr., (Buck), 75, passed away from dementia on June 19, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth Holbrook Pentecost and Julian Howell Pentecost, Sr. Buck is survived by his beloved wife Kathryn Wilson Pentecost, sisters Anne Considine and Nancy Siska, step-children Taylor Wulf (Courtney) and Anne Wulf, and grandson Henry Wulf.
Born in Louisville, KY, on August 20, 1950, Buck graduated from Huguenot High School, University of Virginia (BA), and Virginia Commonwealth University (M.Ed.). He was a voracious reader and was known for his wicked sense of humor. Buck also enjoyed frisbee golf, walking/hiking, playing poker, Grateful Dead music, pool and tinkering with cars. He loved all animals, especially his dogs and cats.
The family will receive friends at Woody Funeral Home – Huguenot Chapel on Monday, June 29th from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crater Community Hospice or Richmond Animal League.
The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Arbor Cottage of Salisbury and the Crater Community Hospice care team for the loving care they provided for Buck.
