Karl Gunther Hoffmann died at his home in Midlothian, Virginia on February 28. Karl was born 1919 in Ober Wustegiersdorf, Silesia, at that time a part of Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1927, grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey and raised his family in Union, New Jersey. Karl was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Ruth, nee Mumford. He was also predeceased by his daughter Kristine Hoffmann and his great granddaughter Lydia Erickson. He is survived by his daughter, Erika Erickson, son-in-law Carl, 3 grandchildren, Daniel and his wife Cheryl, Benjamin and Rachel, and a great granddaughter Lorelei Erickson. The family gives heartfelt thanks to the heart failure team at the VCU Medical Center, especially Pat McMahon, as well as to New Century Hospice, especially Amanda Voss.
