Karon Laura Lee Pieniak

Born on November 17, 1947, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, Karon was the youngest in her family and often shared fond memories of her joyful childhood. She especially loved reminiscing about the fun and adventures she had with her brother, Bill, and sister, Donna—stories that reflected the deep love she carried for her family throughout her life.

Karon was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, David, as well as her brother Bill and sister Donna.

She is survived by her children: Mitch; Brenda (Russ); Teresa (Scott); Tammy (JR); Katie (Joe); and Jenny (Freddie). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Melissa (Nate), Lauren (Tyler), Michael (Bridget), Preston, Nathan (Hadley), Josh (Brinna), Dani (Jay), Evan, Tony, and Gabby; and her adored great-grandchildren: Makenzie, Phoebe, Mia, Olivia, Dominick, Dresden, Rowan, Arya, Zane, Jayden, Avery, Calvin, Winter, and Aden, as well as the extended Benitez family.

Karon loved animals, especially dogs, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee, and working on crossword puzzles. She had a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a way of making those around her feel cared for and welcome. Her warmth, sweetness, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.

She will be deeply and dearly missed, and forever loved beyond words.

Visitation will be held on May 4th from 4-8pm at Woody Funeral Home-Huguenot. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan.
