Attending Carnegie Mellon, she made her societal debut in Pittsburgh, there she met a young man from Duke University. They married and raised three daughters. She was able to find love again, later in life, enjoying a few precious years together. Cassie was a creative spirit with a knack for interior decorating, a beautiful singing voice and a penchant for poetry and watercolors. She was an avid reader, loved a good game, especially Bridge and Gin Rummy, and developed an unexpected passion for genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames, fully embracing and reveling in her family’s rich and colorful past. A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
