Born in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of Robert Andrew Long and Lauretta Delores (Mongeon) Long. She attended Smithdeal Massey Business College and received her AAS in Early Childhood Education from J.Sargeant Reynolds Community College.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church her entire life. She loved children and spent her whole life dedicated to teaching them. First at home while her daughters were young and later in various preschools before finally settling at the church daycare. She also taught her grandchildren every chance she had. She was a loving and caring Grammy to them all. She was also known as “The Story Lady” to generations of preschoolers.
She is survived by her husband Garland, daughters, Darleen Musgnung and husband Jeff of Coopersburg, PA, JennieLeigh Van Bogart of Richmond, VA, and Lauren Craig and husband Bob of Schoharie, NY, grandchildren Dana & John Musgnung, and Joseph & James Craig. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Norman Van Bogart.
The visitation will be at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel from 6-8pm on Sunday, April 7th. The memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday, April 8th at 11am with a luncheon to follow. Interment at Westhampton Memorial Park at 2pm.
