Porterfield, Larry Leonard, 72 of Chesterfield Virginia passed away December 14th 2018. Larry was a devoted father, loving husband and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a communication N.C.O. After the Army, he drove tractor and trailers for Associated Asphalt until retirement. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis C Porterfield, Son Chad Porterfield, three grandchildren Hunter, Bailey, and Reaghan Porterfield, his brother Paul Eugene Porterfield and several nieces and nephews.
His celebration of life will be at Woody Funeral home, 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113, at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019. He will be laid to rest and interred during a military service at Amelia Veterans Cemetery, January 14th, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002, at 3 p.m. with full honors rendered. The Family requests that donations be made instead of flowers to the American Cancer Society on his behalf.
