Peggy was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 29, 1933, to Lewis and Arlene (King) Hall. She was a graduate of AIIen High School (PA), the University of Richmond, and East Carolina University.
Peggy served with unselfish consistency as both a pastor’s wife and military spouse for over forty years.
She was also a gifted musician (piano, organ, flute), choir director, school teacher, and guidance counselor, whose warmth and genuine kindness touched the lives of all with whom she connected. Among her many personal joys were time spent living in Germany and 42-plus years of annual summer vacations at the beach with family in Sanibel Island, Florida.
Peggy is survived by her brother, William (Cyndy) Hall; her children, Dr. Shelley (Dr. Richard) Conroy, and Rev. Dr. Lee Flippen; grandchildren, Jennifer (Thomas) Baggette, Richie (Kaitlin) Conroy, Amanda Flippen and Eddie Flippen; great-grandsons Logan and Carter Baggette and Brooks, Lane, and Hayes Conroy along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Chaplain (LTC, ret. USA) Edward Flippen and her parents, Lewis and Arlene Hall.
To know Peggy was to understand her confidence in the assurance of God’s plan for her life as well as unselfish devotion to her family. The words found in Philippians 4:6-7 were her advice and example to others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and many whose lives she touched in a variety of different roles.
Family will receive friends August 16, 2025 at 9:00am followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30am. Burial will follow at noon at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Missions Fund at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Richmond, Va 23238. (804) 270- 6600. info @mountvernon.church
