

Margaret Graham Parrish Jeffrey, the widow of Paul R. Jeffrey, Jr, died Monday, August 22, 2011 in Richmond from complications of pancreatic cancer. She was the daughter of the late Oscar E. Parrish, Jr. and Isabel Tarry Parrish. She graduated from Marymount School in Richmond in 1960 and was employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia for 39 years. She retired from 37 years' service with the Safety Division of the Virginia State Police in 2008. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Elizabeth Jeffrey. She is survived by her two sons, Parrish Dixon Jeffrey, and his wife, Theresa, and Paul Richard Jeffrey, III, of Richmond, two stepdaughters, Alison Scott and her husband, Joe, of Richmond, and Jennifer Yellets and her husband, Jeff, of California, MD, and her sister, Christian Parrish Roberts and her husband, Hunter H. Wood, of Charlottesville. Also surviving are her grandchildren Samantha and Ian Jeffrey, Joey and Jesse Scott, and Bethany and Brian Yellets, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was a homemaker in the truest sense, who enjoyed quilting, among other crafts, and created a loving atmosphere for others to share, whether at her home in Richmond or at the "Tree House", on the family farm in Mecklenburg County. She was a member of Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local SPCA
