

Mary Gene Brown, widow of Paul H. Riley, departed this life on January 5, 2013. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Dr. James L. Riley and Julie, and Dr. P. Thomas Riley and Barbara; five grandchildren, Michelle Davenport, Tara Krohn, Paul W. Riley, Morgan Riley and Erin Lovrien; and four great-grandchildren, Ella Davenport, Jack Davenport, Riley Krohn and Scott Krohn. She was born in Harrison County, W.Va. in 1919, the daughter of Walter J. and Dessie C. Brown. For a number of years she worked for the Lumberport-Shinnston Gas Company. After moving to Richmond, she worked as the bookkeeper for a local dentist and later as a teacher in a nursery school. She was very active in many church activities and directed the children's nursery school. The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 9, 2013 at the Huguenot Chapel at Woody's Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road from 6 to 8 p.m. An interment service at Westhampton Memorial Park will be private.
