He was born on July 1, 1945, in Charleston, West Virgina, son to the late Margaret Frances Holstein Glenn and Claude Glenn.
After graduating high school, Mel served in the US Air Force. Following his service, he settled down in Midlothian, Virginia where he studied at the Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a Masters of Science in Mathematics. Mel enjoyed a long career at AT&T where he worked and retired as an Engineer.
Mel’s passions and interests included history, art, photography, film, travel, electronics and veteran causes.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased in death by his loving sisters, Jean Elliott (Bob Elliott), and Wanda Macdowall. He is survived by his brother-in-law John Macdowall and his nieces and nephews Janet Macdowall, JoAnne Macdowall, John Macdowall, Tim Elliott and Doug Elliot.
A celebration of life will be communicated to family members and friends at a later date. Donations can be made in his honor to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
