OBITUARY

Olive Jane Stiller

July 9, 1930 – August 18, 2026
Obituary of Olive Jane Stiller
IN THE CARE OF

Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel

Olive Jane Stiller, 96, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026. Olive Jane was born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York. She lived a full and active life centered around family, friendships, music, travel, creativity, and the many activities she loved.

Olive Jane was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who adored her three granddaughters. She was married to her beloved husband, Frank, for 62 years. Together they built a life that took them from Glen Rock and Randolph, New Jersey, to Charlotte, North Carolina. They eventually moved to Midlothian, Virginia, where they made their home near their daughter, Kim.

Olive Jane was always active and loved learning, creating, and staying busy. She played bridge and the piano, and in her younger years loved to ski and roller skate. She was an avid sewer, knitter, and needlepointer, and took great pleasure in creating things for the people she loved. She also loved to cook and enjoyed sharing food with family and friends. And she loved to travel—as long as the travel did not involve an airplane.

Family was at the center of Olive Jane’s life. She loved bringing everyone together and was often the one organizing family gatherings and making sure that everyone was included. She had a wonderful way of taking charge and making things happen, a quality her family came to know and love. Her family even bought her a whistle as a joke—just one more reminder of how seriously she took her role as the organizer

Olive Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stiller, and her son, Clint Stiller.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Gainsforth (Rod); her three granddaughters, Daphne McDermott (Matthew), Melanie Vick (Brandon), and Abby McClure (Tim).

Olive Jane will be remembered for her love of family, her active spirit, her creativity, her sense of humor, and the joy she took in keeping the people she loved close and connected.

The family would like to thank Bickford Assisted Living and Chapters Hospice for their wonderful care.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be private at Amelia Veterans Cemetery, where she will join her beloved Frank.
