Before Orion was born, his father saw the constellation of Orion in the sky and rushed in and excitedly exclaimed “Orion” which was his mother’s favorite constellation. It meant “son of light/fire.” His parents didn’t start out naming their children after the elements, but they stuck to the theme. His middle name needed to be a water name, and to honor family roots, Loch was chosen. His name suited his personality as he was a big guy with a huge heart and a quick wit that was so much like his father.
Orion had recently graduated from Monacan High School where he was involved in all the bands and his music. He loved playing his trumpet, riding his motorcycle, playing volleyball, and gaming. He loved his girlfriend and his friends and they loved him. Growing up he played all the sports and it was so much fun watching him learn and grow.
Quoting his favorite, Lightning McQueen, which was Orion to a tee, “Speed. I am speed.” “Faster than fast, quicker than quick, I am Lightning.” His life was like a flash of lightning, full of energy, brilliant, bright, and gone in a moment.
Orion ended on a high note, doing what he loved, following the girl he loved. His life was like a symphony, full of love and laughter, and the exhilaration of the ride.
