

Patricia Dunkley "Patsy" Rudd, 83 of Midlothian, Virginia crossed the river on September 27, 2026 to be at home with her Lord and Savior. Patsy spent her final days comfortably at home with family by her side.
Patsy was a member of Central Baptist Church and a faithful servant of their ministry. Patsy and her mother began preparing Wednesday night fellowship suppers for the members, and Patsy continued this ministry for over four decades until Alzheimer’s forced her to step down. She was also a member of the Midlothian Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Midlothian Garden Club where she won many awards.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert H. "Herby" Rudd III and her two sons, Danny Rudd (Nicole Rudd) of Midlothian, VA and Rodney Rudd (Val Abrego) of Washington, DC; one granddaughter, Madeline Rudd, who resides in Blacksburg, VA; one sister, Betty Hale (Fred Hale) of Staunton, VA; and one brother William "Billy" Dunkley (Gaynell Dunkley) of Abingdon, VA.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Willie "Shorty" and Sallie Dunkley and her nephew Mark Hale.
Her remains will rest at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian VA, 23113.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM on October 3, 2026. The family will receive friends at 1PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Patsy's memory by making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Her granddaughter, Madeline, will be participating in the walk in her memory. The link can be found below.
