Mrs. Mahan was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Mahan. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Elmira Higgins; and brothers, Mickey Higgins and David Higgins. Survivors include her son, Charles, Jr. “Pete” Mahan and his wife Carol; son, Greg Mahan; three grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Mahan, and Rachel Jones; one brother, Robert Higgins and three sisters, Kathleen Higgins, Alene Crews and Carolyn Higgins.
Mrs. Mahan retired after a long career with Children’s Hospital and was a long standing member of Stockton Memorial Baptist Church.
With safety concerns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, no public funeral service will be held. A private outdoor burial will be at Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A celebration of life event will occur in the future.
