

Sara Minerva Davis was born on December 8, 1934, to Rachel Beall Davis and to Robert Madison Davis in Richmond, Virginia. When she was three years old, the family moved to Florida. Sara graduated from Clearwater High School in 1952. She graduated from Maryville College in 1956. She received an M.A. from the University of Arkansas in 1962 and an M.A. from the University of London in 1972. She taught 8th and 9th grade English in Little Rock, Arkansas, from 1956 to 1961, freshman and sophomore English on a part-time basis at University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma Christian College, University of Hawaii, and high-school English on the campus of Huguenot Academy or Blessed Sacrament Huguenot since 1972. Her awards included several listings in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," Teacher-Tribute Award Nomination by Best First-year Teacher Nominee, citation for best high-school teacher by freshman at University of Richmond, and several financial tributes to Blessed Sacrament Huguenot in her name.
She married Charles C. Rogers in 1956. They adopted three children: Malcolm, Andrea, and Sean. Twelve years after their divorce, Sara married Albert Unetic in 1986, who had two sons: Phillip and Albert. Thus she acquired the large family that she had always wanted. With the combination of siblings, respective mates, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, the family gatherings included nineteen, and continued to grow.
She was an elder and an adult Sunday School teacher at Bon Air Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children Malcolm, Andrea, and Sean; her step-children Albert and Phillip; her daughters-in-law Mary, Naomi, Sandy, and Maureen; her grandchildren Wren, Kyle, Elizabeth, Zack, and Phoebe; and nine great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bon Air Presbyterian Church or Habitat for Humanity.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 10th at 10 am at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA 23113. The graveside service will take place at 12 pm at Westhampton Memorial and Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238. The Rogers Family invites you to a reception at their home following the graveside service. The reception will begin at 1:30 PM at 13525 Poplardell Court, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
