

He was blessed with his son, Michael Wesby, his late daughter, Susan Jenkins, daughter, Janice Lohmann, son, David Wesby and six grandchildren: Tiffany Ludwick, Scott Lohmann, Heather Jenkins, Alex Wesby, Alyssa Wesby and Cameron Lohmann. Also carrying on his memory are 3 great grand-daughters Adelaide Ludwick, Caroline Ludwick, and Paige Lohmann.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Carol Wesby, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. They treasured their times together, raising family, and traveling extensively. He is also survived by his sister, Marcella Grayson and his nephew, John Voelker. He was predeceased by his late brother Michael Wesby of St. Louis, MO and late nephew Tom Voelker of St. Louis MO.
Stephen always had a strong moral compass and was a devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His commitment to family and family values were always of the highest priority. He will be missed greatly by all whose lives he touched and impacted with his kind spirit.
Stephen proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, loved his country unconditionally, and had an abiding respect for active and retired Military Veterans.
He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and had a strong passion and dedication for the Healthcare Industry where he served in Senior Leadership for close to 40 years. He proudly served as Chief Financial Officer of Richmond Memorial Hospital for 23 years, Chief Financial Officer of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for 8 years, and Administrator of Cardiovascular Surgical Associates, Roanoke, VA for 5 years. In addition, he proudly served on the National Board of Directors of the Healthcare Financial Management Association for 6 years.
Stephen was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church and taught religious education for 4 years while being a member at Our Lady of Lourdes parish. He was also a Eucharistic Minister and served on the Board of St. Francis Home in Richmond.
Stephen loved to travel the world with his family, visiting a wide array of destinations that included Germany, Australia and Alaska. He also enjoyed trips to National Parks throughout the United States. A lover of sports, he was a lifelong baseball fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, considering Hall of Famer Stan “The Man" Musial a personal favorite.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22 from 10:00 to 11:30am at Woody Funeral Home - Huguenot Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at noon at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield D. Chesterfield, VA. Interment will follow at 2pm at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave. Richmond, VA.
