Dear Mrs. Simpson, Brad and Chad I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I have a lot of great memories of Mr. Simpson while growing up on the ball fields. He was a great man and coach. I will remember all the good times we had playing ball with him out there. I am sorry I was unable to be there for the service but I will be thinking about you guys during this difficult time.

Dear Vickie, Chad and the entire family; I and my family are so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man. My other Southwest Church of Christ brothers and sisters have posted here sentiments that describe so beautifully what Steve meant to us as a church friend, mentor, brother and leader, as one of our fine elders. My memories include how supportive you all were in the loss of my own dear wife in 2001. My memories of working with Steve in his great leadership as Project Manager of our new church building (2006) showed me how smart and patient and gentle he could be while being so strong.  We were all blessed to have known such a kind and caring Christian man. May God comfort you all during this trying time.

I had not heard he was ill. I know the Lord will watch over him. Because he loves each and everyone of us. You can depend on our savior to help get through this. I know he will.

Mr. Simpson is one the greatest guys anyone would ever meet in their life. He’d literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed one. I’ve had the privilege to be around Steve through baseball, since I was 12 years old. When I graduated high school, I started working with his son, Chad. Steve would help out whenever he could but especially weekends in September when it was time to aerate. Even though he was older than all of us out there, he never hesitated to grab the biggest and heaviest aerater on the trailer. To me, it’s about like trying to wrestle a bull around a yard, and he would do it all day! At the end of the day he was whooped but he was never gonna let that thing get the best of him! There was never a ounce of quit in that man and he gave you everything he had no matter what he was doing. I learned a lot just being around him and I’m a better person today for knowing Steve. I loved and admired him. His family is first class and it truly is a great family to be around. I’m fortunate enough to have shared part of my life with Steve and continue to do so with his family.

Steve was my christian mentor and friend. His kind wisdom and leadership for all at Southwest will be greatly missed . When Steve talked we all sat on the edge of our seats waiting for what he would say next, always with his kind demeanor and steady draw.
Often in these later years i would greet Steve and Vicky as they parked, regardless of how he felt he did not complain and smiled and hid his pain. 
Steve is the best example of what a christian father, husband, dad ,family man,and leader that i know , he lived his life as we should all strive to do . We love you and miss you but i know you will be in heaven sitting with the saints by the throne of our Lord.

    My deepest sympathy to you for your lost. Steve was a hugh player in the formation of Chesterfield Little League, and played a big part in developing many kids in Chesterfield at baseball.

The Archers are sad to hear of Steve’s passing, but encouraged to know that he has received his reward for a Christian life well lived.  I will not forget his wisdom, encouragement and most of all his Faith and positive attitude as he battled an unforgiving adversary.  Steve’s example taught us more than he realized  and it was a privilege to know him.  I will miss talking baseball with Steve, for now.

Vickie sorry to hear about Steve. I will never forget the great times we had when we worked together at Red Ace.  Hard to believe it was 50 years ago. Steve was a good friend. Prayers for you and your family.

Steve and Vickie were classmates and my friends for grades 1-12 at Richardsville and Warren East.  I have so many good memories of those years together.   I remember Steve as one of the really good guys.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing.  My deepest sympathy to Vickie and all of Steve’s family.  

A fellow classmate at Warren East our senior year. Planning our 50 year class reunion and looked forward to seeing Steve and Vickie. So very sorry for his passing.
