Tommy L. Crowder, 53, left his rented mortal shell unexpectedly and too early on April 22, 2015. He died while doing something he loved, being with friends and riding his motorcycle. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, love and laughter, his wife and soul mate, Laura, his beloved son and daughter, Warren D. Crowder and Lacee N. Lovelace, and the apple of his eye his granddaughter, Braelynn Nicole. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas W. and Nancy S. Crowder. Also surviving are his aunts Carol Veeley, BB Crowder and Eupha Horhoe.
He was employed by Verizon and before that by Allied Chemical (Honeywell) and was a member of both the IBEW and CWA Unions. He was also a past member of the Forest View Rescue Squad. There isn't a person who knew him who doesn't have a special Tommy story or Tommyism to repeat, share and laugh over. He touched us all in so many ways that his death will a leave a void that will never be filled by another. His faith and belief in God were strong and all of us who knew him and loved him will gather strength and courage in that same faith to continue on without him. He would not want us to cry and mourn his loss, but to celebrate and remember him with love in our hearts, laughter in our voices and a stiff drink raised high in our hands.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 7 - 9 pm at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA. A memorial service and time for laughter and sharing will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 7 - 9 pm at the same location In lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to either the American Heart Association or Journey Christian Church.
