Great grandchildren Hayden, Hannah and Wyatt. Faye also leaves behind sister-in-law, Janie Lovel, as well as her niece, nephew and many cousins.
Faye was born on December 29, 1930 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She graduated from Fountain Lake High School and earned her education degree from Arkansas State Teachers College, and later, her master's degree in education administration from VCU.
Faye found her passion for teaching early in life. She taught Home Economics in Portland, Texas, and later taught elementary school and was a resource teacher at Skipwith Elementary in Henrico County. Her career spanned more than 40 years. For years after she retired, she continued to volunteer at Three Chopt Elementary. She touched the lives of so many students and has kept in contact with many of them throughout the years.
Faye loved her family above all. She was a world traveler, enjoyed crocheting for family and friends, and the Richmond Animal League. Lunches with her Skipwith retiree group was a highlight.
The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful, caring staff at Sunrise at Bon Air, where she called home for the past two years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you “adopt a teacher” this fall to help with classroom supplies. This would please Faye very much.
A private service and interment will be held later as determined by the family.
