Walter Boelt, 84, of Powhatan, departed this life on March 24, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Minnie; daughter, Sandra; sister, Lois Schalow; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Phyllis Jibben; three nieces two nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew. Walter had a lifelong love of Bluegrass and old time music, playing several instruments. He traveled to shows across the South, and especially enjoyed the Galax shows. A memorial service to honor Walter's life will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia on Wednesday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m.
